As you may have seen I recently did a review of "Finding Serenity" and was just wondering if anyone had read the book and had a comment about it. Thanks!

I haven't been keeping up with everything that interests me on Bella - and I apologize for the late reply!

I am a big fan of Firefly, and your article about the collection of essays is outstanding.

I have not read the book. My first thought reading about it was that I don't want to see the book - because I don't want to change my own views and ideas about the series. I like pondering the issues personally myself.

(I don't know what kind of psychology is behind that . . .)

But when I read that it includes a series of emails from Fox, I changed my mind. It might be worth a read just for those! Fox, obviously, made a very dumb mistake.

I only recently watched the film for the first time. It was nice to see the cast together again, but it just wasn't "deep" enough for me, as compared to the series. I think they just didn't have the time. It would have been nice to see it as a trilogy <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> , but of course, a lot of things would have been nice . . . right?

Just a clarification--those aren't real emails--just a parody of how idiotic the Fox executives were to cancel such a fantastic show.

I have to admit I wasn't planning to read the book myself, either, for the same reasons--but my husband bought it off Amazon, and one day I picked it up. Because the essays are short, it was easy to finish one, and then what the heck--go on to the others. I hope you enjoy it.
