Up to now, wine and alcohol have not had to label their products but it appears that is soon to be changing (for calories, carbs, nutrition, etc). A new player in the Irish whiskey market is Castle Brands with 2 new whiskeys: Knappogue Castle Irish Single Malt (with each bottling bearing the "vintage date" of distillation), and Clontarf...which it claims has approximately 10 carbs.

now you have to wonder if they can truely cal themselves a true whiskey since it does require a specific amount of years in fermintation to be clled one. Plus, the amount of proof will also affect it's carbs. The higher the proof (100%) the lower the carbs.

www.Adams Market Research Alcohol Beverage Industry

... Clontarf is available in three designations: Clontarf Irish Whiskey, Clontarf Reserve and Clontarf Single Malt ... 125) and carbs (approx. 10) than Bud, MGD, Heineken and Bass Ale ...

I looked the site up again to check out what I reported. The blurb on the web indicated that clontarf has less than 10 carbs, but to FULLY read the whole article, they were referring to Guinness Beer. I've attached the explanation.

Quote:

According to the company's materials, a 12-oz. serving of Guinness is lower in calories (approx. 125) and carbs (approx. 10) than Bud, MGD, Heineken and Bass Ale. Perhaps even more surprising, ounce for ounce it is even lower in calories than skim milk.

Sorry for messing up this question, folks. I DID want to correct it, tho. MIA CULPA.
