"Gone with the Wind" with Clark Gable, my husband says is a classic romance movie. I tend to love "Pretty Woman" with Richard Gere and Julia Roberts, but he says that is not really a classic since it is not over 20 years old. But that is the 1st one I think of....

I think you can make an agrument for Pretty Woman for what is known as a modern classic. Some people say there is a 20 yr limit before it becomes a classic, but others agrue against that. I think Sleepless in Seattle is a modern classic. It is only 13 yrs old. It is one of my favorites.
Pretty Woman is 16 yrs old, so it is close enough.

Oh, I really liked Sleepless in Seattle, too! Another one that was pretty cool was Sabrina, with Harrison Ford, Julia Ormand and Greg Kinnear.

I really like Sabrina too. I have been meaning to write a review comparing the original and the Ford one. I think I may just have to watch them again to make sure I don't miss anything.

Judith, did you like "While You Were Sleeping" with Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman? That could almost be a good, romantic movie for Christmas, don't you think?

Rome Adventure (1962) is a romantic movie. It stars Suzanne Pleshette, Angie Dickinson and Troy Donahue. Suzanne is a librarian who travels to Rome to find love. She and Troy hook up. Angie is the third party. Scenes of ancient Roman ruins are wonderful. My favorite scene is when Italian crooner Emilio Pericoli sings Al Di La. It has to be the most romantic song ever recorded.
