I live in Northwest Indiana, Valparaiso, Indiana, and am looking for the best Polish restaurants in my area, even Chicago. Also, the best carry out foods and other Polish items, in my area, or Chicago.
Hello ValpoMike.. Have you tried the Warsaw Inn in Lynwood, Illinois? It is a buffet type restaurant. They have wonderful pierogi along with other great dishes. They even have an accordian player on Friday & Saturday nights. Speaking of pierogi..have you been to the Pierogifest in Whiting every July? Also, there used to be a Polka House Deli in Calumet City, but they closed a few years ago. Last I heard they still had a store on Commercial Ave. in South Chicago. And finally there is a Krakow Deli in Crown Point, on Main St. next to Arby's. They aren't a restaurant, but they have many great imported products from pickles to candy. They have homemade Kiszka on Fridays. ~Kathy (in Crown Point)
Try the Highland Polish Restaurant, on Archer, near the Midway Airport. Great, worth the drive, great food, fair prices, and building looks like in Poland. Try it and let me know what you think.
