Hi Folks
As observant forum visitors will have picked up I'm moving house shortly- in a week's time to be precise. It is all making my head spin a bit

There are a few things I'll be doing to ensure the move is as harmonious and positive as possible. I'll be composing an article on this! Meanwhile has anyone got any hints or tips for little ol' me?

As a past frequent mover; go ahead and have a garage sale and get rid of stuff that you've done nothing with for the past year or more. If you haven't touched it in that amount of time, there's no sense in taking it with you!

De-load and de-stress yourself by getting rid of useless stuff, either by selling or donating.

I'm with Michelle! Get rid of what you don't use or need.

Also, you may want to consult a simple Feng Shui book (preferrably in the Dragon Door tradition so you won't have to use a compass) so you can start out with free-flowing energy where you need it in the home--and strategically placed objects to re-direct/block chi that's moving too quickly. (My favorite book is Feng Shui in 5 Minutes by Selena Summers).

Hello Both

Thanks Michelle. You are absolutely right, dejunking is one of the best things about moving as it brings your life up to date with who you are for the next phase I moved two years ago & got rid of huge amounts of stuff. Even so this time when I went through the filing cabinet I ended up with three sacks of paper for recycling!

Janet good tip! I've got floor plans of my new house with a compass orientation, so I can do this in my 'relaxation' moments! I noticed that like my current house it has the wealth corner missing if you go by Black Hat Sect Feng Shui I did quite a lot here to bring that in by placing bamboo & lights. I haven't looked to see what is missing by the compass school- but my general rule of thumb is that all sectors are important & therefore you do what you can to square off the shape of your house & keep them all.

Well, if the Wealth corner is missing you can always "create" one via a Vastu Shastra altar. Vastu Shastra pre-dates Feng Shui. Like the compass lineage of Feng Shui, Vastu Shastra is governed by five elements and eight directionsmuch like a Ba Gua map.

I have a review up of an awesome book on how to create easy altars for Abundance and Prosperity, Spirituality, Health, Relationships, etc.:

Thanks Janet
This is something I haven't looked into yet at all. I'll pop it on my reading list
