Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on purchasing storage units or sheds for gardening supplies and tools? I don't need anything huge and have been looking into several storage units on the sears website. Any suggestions or things to keep in mind while I'm researching? Thanks!

We have a garage for our stuff - two car garage - half for one car and half for stuff. In my neighborhood, many people have garden sheds that look like their houses. That's a fad. My mother had a garden shed - it was on a concrete slab and she made sure it had gutters to keep the water away from the base.

Your best bet is to talk to the guys at Sears and Lowes or Home Depot and then you'll get a consensus about what is really important.

I was just at Home Depot and saw some nice garden sheds but I guess it comes down to what you want and what you need. There were some that looked way too small and some that were too big and obtrusive so I ended up leaving without making a decision lol.

It's probably best to make a list of what exactly you'll be storing in the shed and plan how the items will fit, keeping in mind how easily you'll want to get things out like a lawnmower for instance. Plan vertical storage to hang rakes and other tools. Also think about shelves for storing items like pots, small tools, potting soil, etc. With good planning, you may find you can get by with a not so big shed.

I really want a little potting shed. I am thinking that I will create an area under the lean-to once it is fixed up. But i would not mind a little shed just for gardening.
