Hi all, am new here and would love to share patterns, news etc.

Am in a "slump" where finishing up a sweater for my 22 yr old daughter. Any suggestions to help me get motivated once again? She's been really patient!

This may sound crazy but this is what I do, I put everything (the yarn, pattern, needles etc.) for the next project that I really want to do in a clear bag, put it by me as a sort of incentive to hurry up with the current project. Of course this only works if you are a finisher/only work on one project at a time. If that doesn't work, try committing to working on it 10 minutes per day. You will be surprised how much you can get done.

I've been in a little knitting slump, too. I made an unfixable mistake in a very complicated sweater, and had to take out WEEKS of work! It was so frustrating that I haven't been able to make myself pick the project back up. But now that the weather's getting a bit cooler, I'm much more interested in settling in on the couch with some lovely wool yarn on my lap. Maybe if you remind yourself of how pleasant it is to be knitting on a cool evening, and how much your daughter will appreciate that sweater now that autumn is here, you'll be able to move on. You could also treat yourself to some really scrumptious yarn and knit up a quick scarf for yourself as a reward when this project is done. Treating yourself is always fun!

Oh Becky I AM REALLY GOOD TO MYSELF !!!!!!! hehehehehe Well then of course I treat myself so that when I am actually good then I don't have to wait for my reward !!
