SF Siters,

I read a collection of Sci-Fi short stories last year, but can't remember which author it was, nor the title.

Most striking was a story about a singularities / nodes which randomly appeared in cities, causing disruption. These nodes formed a sphere, inside which movement can only be made towards the centre. People caught inside the sphere had to move inward, or pass out due to circulation shock.
The protagonist in this story had to go into the sphere and rescue people, meeting at the centre, avoiding corners, dead ends, etc.

Other stories discussed real time memory recording (the memory recorder becoming senient, etc) and cloning.

I would love to find out which author wrote this collection.
