One of my favorite destinations in the Southwest USA is Zion National Park. It has so many hikes and trails under the gorgeous redrock canyons. I like to go there with my family and hike the Weeping Rock or Emerald Pools trails. They are relatively short. Weeping Rock goes to an overhang with water seeping through the rock. Lots of vegetation on the shaded trail. Emerald Pools are some lakes on the sandstone ledge of the canyon. Absolutely fantastic views of the stunning orange cliffs. A place like no other!
For visitors to northern Arizona or southern Utah, Zion is a must see! Don't hurry, take your time.. pack a lunch or camp in the area. It is a enchanting!
I travel annually to southern Utah to find spring hiking. My daughter's favourite Zion hike is Angel's Landing (she's been up and down at least six times). It's a challenging hike, but if you don't have a fear of heights -- the experience is out of this world.
We're considering a family trip there midweek next week. I've seen pictures over the years, and have always been drawn to it -- hoping and looking forward to seeing it in person. And the weather forecasts I've seen look like perfect weather, too!
