This past week I went along with my husband to his barber. After his haircut was finished, the barber asked me if I wanted a trim, and although I didn't intend on getting a haircut, I did need a trim. My hair was about two inches long on the back and sides, and longer on top, razored with layers. The barber buzzed me with a number two clipper, and the top isn't an inch long. I was in shock. The funny thing is my husband loves the new look, I am getting compliments from everyone I see, and I have to admit I do look good(and younger).I seriously think I will go back to the barber shop for my next trim. We live in a rural area where women with hair this short isn't common, and I was wondering if this style is popular anywhere?

I live in Wales in the UK, i used to wear my hair very short, about an inch long on top. My best friend has here's cut number 0 too the board on the back and sides and about an inch long but all diferent lengts on top. I think she also looks great and she does recieve a lot of comments about it. If you've got the guts i say wear it with pride!

Good for you!! I've always wanted to do this but haven't had the guts (or the right kind of hair, I don't think). I used to LOVE the pixie look that everyone had for a while. So cute and it makes everyone's eyes look huge and really brings out the cheekbones.

well, what started out as what I thought was a good idea, turned out quite bad. This past weekend I went back to my husband's barber for a trim, he had suggested a trim every two weeks.I really loved the short cut that he initially gave me,I looked great and so much younger. All of my friends were crazy about it. Now I look like a Marine. I told him I just needed a trim, so it would look like the last time I was there. Now my sides and back are shaved off to stubble, since I am blonde it looks like I am bald, and the top is cut into a flattop, like a soldier. He even shaved my neck and sideburns with a razor.Even though I never could get my regular stylist to cut my hair short enough,I sure did't want something like this. A word to the wise, men's barbers are just for men.

Yikes! When getting a clipper cut, especially from a barber, always remember which guard he used so you can remind him.

I'm so sorry that your second haircut went too severe. But your first haircut sounds like exactly what I want! Did you ever go back and cut it short (without the Marine look...) again?

I, too, couldn't get my hairstylist to cut my hair as short as I wanted. That's why I plan to clipper it myself - I'm afraid of barbers. My ex hated short hair and it wasn't clippered, so its great your husband loves what is comfortable for you. Try clippering it yourself, or perhaps your husband could help you?
