I have been watching what I eat latley, trying to lose a little weight. My husband and I are trying to have a baby.
I really thought that I had been doing well I mean I feel better and thought that I looked better, but today I decided to buy a new pair of jeans, while trying them on I brought in 3 diffrent sizes one below one at and one above the size that I wear......The size that i wear didnt fit I had to suck in my stomach to even make them button!!!!!
So I had to by a size larger,, I dont understand I went to Old Navy, cause thats really the only place that has the right fitting jeans for me.. I am so depressed and bummed out......

You have to remember too, different brands of clothes can be off in sizes. I have noticed this lately with pants too. I hate jeans lol. I bought a pair of dress slacks from Walmart in my normal size. But I went to Kmart the same week and the size I bought at walmart didn't fit at Kmart! So don;t be discouraged. It could just be that Old Navy makes them a little smaller than another brand.

Have you increased your activity level? Even walking for 30 minutes everydayor every other day will make a difference. My doctor has order me to get a thyroid test. I have changed my eating since December. I lost 15 pounds and I am stuck there. I am always on the move everyday and she said she can tell because my legs are pretty muscular except for a pocket of fat on the inside of my up thighs whick I can work on by taking stairs instead of elevators. But she wants me to get the thyroid test. She said if I do have a thyroid problem and I get on the medicine, she said if I keep eating habits the way I have been and increase exercise somehow, I will lose 20 pounds easily in the first month or 2. Now my problem is finding the time to go get the blood drawn. Maybe talk to your doctor about this as well. Good luck and keep in touch!

I have the same problem when I was younger I was into the whole cheerleading drill team dance thing so I was pretty active, latley though snuggling in bed seems like a better idea than taking a walk god I am so lazy, all the weight seems to be consentrated around my middle and I am sure that a few changes to my diet would help, but I guess I really cant complain about it until I do something more effective about it, Thanks by the way
I appreciate the advise

Also, you may have just been retaining water or maybe you tried on a pair of jeans with a different fit than you're used to or something. I think if you feel better and think you look better you're probably doing the right stuff. Don't get discouraged!

It was probably just a cut. The unfortunate thing is sizing is not universal among all stores. Ignore the number and judge by the way you feel and can get around. Also, the same style of jean in the same size can fit differently. They use a template to punch through a bunch of layers of fabric so each pair will not be exactly the same even though they have the same size tag.

Even in the same store you can fit into a range of jeans. It doesn't necessarily mean that you've gained weight, but I know *exactly* how you feel . There's even "vanity stores" out there where they make you feel really good about yourself by making pants for people about my size (a "normal" weight person) that say they are a size "2" when they are really a "10" or higher. I wish I could find one of those. I've only heard of them... It's probably one of those expensive stores that I usually don't go into Don't know if I helped any or made any sense...

No You made perfect sence, I braved the stores and tried again, this time I brought in 5 diffrent pairs of jeans and was determined that I would chose them by the way that they fit and not size, I actually found 2 pairs that fit perfect, although I am not the size that i once was I am determined not to let that stand in the way of my confidance in myself. i am going to try to start eatin better and try to get a little more exercise, i may never be a size two like my mother but maybe god doesnt want me that way, I am not gonna stress anymore about fitting into a perfect size, I am going to try to be more positive about myself,,,, I mean why should a jeans designer have the ability to make me feel bad about myself!!!!

It probably was just the cut of that particular brand. I've noticed the "vanity sizing" that a lot of stores have. I think Walmart's stuff runs pretty big. Normally I'm like a size 4, but at Walmart the size 4s are huge. At other stores, a 4 is too small and I have to wear a 6. The only way you can really get accurate sizing is to go by measurements. Your waist measurement in inches is how most designer jeans are sized...ie, "26, 28, 30" etc. Those tend to fit better all over too. Only thing is, they are expensive.
