What is Your Favourite Indian Food? Which Recipe would you like to see on Indian food site?

I actually have a bit of a problem with Indian food although I love Chinese suppers!

I was born with a cleft palate and have had a pharyngoplaste operation carried out. This means that the back of my throat is in the roof of my mouth and it actually objects quite strenously to any kind of spicy food I place there! It was quite a few years before my doctor told me that was why I dislike "hot" food with even mild spices of any kind - for example I have always disliked "minute" steak cooked with pepper. For this reason for example I would never embarrass my friends by going to an Indian restaurant with them and I'm quite careful choosing the Chinese food.

Are there any meals in the Indian food culture which are not spicy?

I would like to see a recipe for chapatis. Yum, yum!

Its almost immpossible to find non spicy food in Indian restaurant but i will definitely post some easy to make non spicy recipes for you.

I noticed that you are in the UK, so I thought that you'd be the best person to address this comment to.
THEE best Indian and/or Pakistani food that I have EVER had was in England and it was curry rice.
Oooohhhh, haven't found ANYTHING like it since.

Simply divine.
That, of course, and Englands fish and chips.
Nothing comparable!
Are they still served in the newspapers? :P

I just joined weight watcher I need more flavor I love Indian food any suggestions?

Saag paneer is divine....(I've also seen and had something called palak paneer which seemed to be the same as saag paneer, so I don't know if they're the same or not). And I could happily die with a piece of naan in my hand!

I totally agree -- the best Indian food I ever had was in the UK. A lot of the best stuff was 'fusion' cuisine. I noticed that British food often has great texture, but not a lot of flavor. But toss in those Indian spices and wheeee!

I lived above an Indian restaurant in London. They made a dish called 'Bombay aloo' which I still crave. It was roasted potatoes (very English) coated with curry spices and chilis (very Indian). Golly, wish I could have some today.
