I just had to tell you all about my special hubby and the blessing we had tonight!

Because dear, darling hubby worked the day of our anniversary, he choose tonight (his day off) to take me out to dinner to one of the fanciest places nearby. It was a Princess Lodge. Princess as in the Cruise Ship Princess. They have three lodges here in Alaska. They are totally upscale in an Alaskan way. I could go on about it....

Needless to say dinner was very special from the baked brie appetizer, thru the clam chowder (made from local clams), onto the seafood platter (again local), and finishing with the shared "Turtle Cheesecake" for dessert. Naturally, each course was complimented with a special wine.

The view was spectacular, overlooking the Internationally famous Kenai River, while we dined near a floor to cathedral ceiling stone fireplace in the log dining room. Soft symphony music mingled with the scent of fresh flowers on our table, caressing the soul. *sigh* Even though we were there three hours, it was over way too soon.

Now for the real blessing... TWINS!!!!!

On our way home, and only a quarter mile from the lodge, we saw a momma moose with twin calves. The babies couldn't have been more than a week old. They didn't stick around long enough for photos, but we got a good look at them none the less. This is the first set of twins I have seen in almost 15 years. They are not uncommon mind you, it is just rare to see them.

Well, it is past my bedtime, the wine has me mellowed and eyes drooping.

Thanks for listening.

Rose

A belated Happy Anniversary to you, Rose! :music: The setting for your dinner sounds fabulous (as in out of a Fairy Tale, lol) and your meal quite delicious. What better way to top it off than by your sighting of the moose twins.

:music: Happy belated anniversary!! :music:

Your hubby always knows how to treat you right, that's for sure. If I didn't know better, I'd think he had those twins placed there just for you, LOL.

Happy Anniversary, Rose. Sounds like a wonderful evening. When Marian said she wouldn't past your husband to have the moose placed there, it reminded of an old Chevy Chase movie where he was trying to sell his farm in the country. So to charm the prospective buyers when they drove up the long driveway, he got on his walkie talkie and whispered "release the deer". Then on cue a doe and two fawns ran across the field and driveway in view of the buyers. Maybe your husband had someone staked out along the way watching for when you came by. Or not.

Thank you all for you anniversary wishes. It was a magical evening. I don't think hubby could "stage" the twins, but they were a wonderful way to end a perfect day.
