Quentin, a 1 year old Basenji, had run out of adoption days and put into a St. Louis animal control gas chamber to be euthanized. When the doors opened, there stood Quinton. The woman running the chamber didn't have the heart to put him back in again, and after the story broke on all the news stations, offers of adoption poured in. Though malnourished, Quentin is a happy pup and his future looks bright.
I find it incredibly sad that it takes something like this for people to open their arms to an animal. Where were all these people for the thousands of animals who are euthanized on a daily basis?
