Hello!

I'm giving away a copy of Healing Cards - A Daily Practice for Maintaining Spiritual Balance by Caroline Myss and Peter Ochiogrosso. :music:

The trivia contest will begin Wednesday, May 5th, 2004. Keep your eyes on this thread for questions!

The first person to answer 10 trivia questions correctly will win the prize. This contest is open to anyone living in the US and UK who is aged 18 or older. Only posts that are unedited will be accepted as answers. Prize will be shipped to the winner at no cost to the winner. Healing Cards is worth $15.95. For complete sweepstakes rules, visit: http://www.bellaonline.com/misc/sweeps/rules.asp

The trivia questions will be general questions about New Age stuff like astrology and chakras, as well as religion, myth, healing, New Age/New Thought authors, and spirituality. You will be able to find some of the answers in my articles.

Check back Wednesday! You never know when I'll post a question. (I tend to post more than one question a day.)

Have fun!

Yes, you're right. I should have known that one for at least a couple of reasons: 1) It's my son's sign, and 2)It's right before Pisces (two water signs don't follow each other). Ooops! I think I'm awake now.

I guess I never really understood some of the images associated with the signs. Sure, 'fishes' and 'bulls' seem to represent their elements for example, but 'water bearer' for Air? That may be a good question for Janet. Hmmmm...

Aquarius is confusing. The only way I can remember it's air is because I know a couple of Aquarius people and they're definitely air people and not water people. They always up in their heads and not very emotional, you know, like water people tend to be.

I hadn't come across any Aquarius-- or other air signs (that I know of)-- in my life until baby Rafael was born. So I haven't been very familiar with that sign. He has a lot to teach me!

My daughter is Aquarius. Some of her typical Aquarian traits - she has a gazillion friends and makes friends really easily with just about anyone. She's a lot more social than me. She's compassionate and cares about people. She's non-conformist and really creative and she likes to invent things. She's intellectual and she's always been really curious about everything and has always asked a lot of questions about everything, and I mean everything. If your baby turns out to be like that, be prepared to be looking up answers a lot. And to have field trips. I've taken her a lot of different places just because she was curious and wantd to explore. Sometimes it drives me nuts but it can be really fun because when I help her find the answers she's looking for, I learn new things myself.

She's a lot of fun. I really enjoy her. I hope you enjoy your baby too.

The three Water signs are Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces. (Am I too late for this question?)

Correct, ringois! :music: The 3 water signs are indeed Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. Water signs are associated with emotion and intuition.

I have often thought "Hmm. Why is Aquarius the water bearer...but an Air sign?" From what I understand, Aquarius is correlated with Ganymede in Greek mythology. Ganymede was a young man that Zeus seduced and made to be a cup-bearer to the gods (water), and was placed in the heavens as Aquarius.

In the book Mapping Your Birthchart, author Stephanie Clement says that Ganymede (which is also one of Jupiter's moons--and Jupiter is the planet of expansion) can be compared to the Vedic god, Soma. Both Ganymede and Soma provide a link between humanity and heaven. Aquarius also has broad perspectives.

My Moon is in Aquarius and my Sun is in Scorpio, actually.

While those words may be correct, including dowsing, I specifically used the word divination. I believe this came up before, but the suffix for divination of any sort is -mancy. Not everything can be found on Google in a second, I guess. I couldn't find pallomancy at Dictionary.com nor a divining dictionary.

Both dowsing and using a pendulum are forms of this divinatory art that I'm thinking of.

Yes, I understand those definitions can be found using Google. I was looking for a specific word, however. (And have already said that pallomancy nor radiesthesia was the word I was looking for.)

If you'd like to choose one of the words in your lengthy post as an answer, just let me know.

I've decided to just remove the last question since it seems to be causing such difficulty. According to the book Diviningg the Future - Prognostication From Astrology to Zoomancy, CLEIDOMANCY is: Divination using the swinging of a pendulum to foretell the future or answer a querent's question.

That was the answer I was looking for.

Thanks for the healing energy, Janey. I've learned to roll with the punches with a Saboteur in the 6th House/SN in 6th House Leo placement! I may know, intellectually, when I'm pushing myself too hard, but once I get a momentum up, it's hard to stop. Illness, for me, provides the interruption that I need to really take stock of my priorities, why I do what I do, etc. Although I'm still not out of the woods, I'm very thankful for the lesson and reminder!

As a result of being grounded, I've read Sonia Choquette's awesome new book Trust Your Vibes, the last half of a brand new book that's a collection of occult short stories, and making progress on another Tarot book that I'm finding fascinating. This means: look for brand new book reviews soon!

However, I shall pace myself now. No need to do it all in one night!

As far as the Healings Cards...well, as I said in my review, I didn't find them particularly healing. However, the Abraham-Hicks cards are!

Aren't those Archangel cards gorgeous? I'm glad you're delighted with them and made a bond there.

Good morning Shannon! You are correct. :music:

Ringois: 2 Points
Michael: 5 Points
Shannon: 4 Points
Janey: 1 Point
Sthenno: 2 Points

How sweet of you to ask how I'm feeling. Well, I'm still congested and such, but am not as "down and out" as I was. I at least have energy to go about day to day tasks. I'm learning to pace myself better, as well as finding balance. I tend to be all or nothing in some of the things I do, to my detriment.

How are things with you?

James and John

I'm glad you're doing better, those things can really knock you out.

I've been on the west coast for the last week and trying to get back on eastern time is really messing with my sleeping but other than that I'm great.

Good to hear you're doing well. My sleep schedule has no rhyme or reason, so I'll never know what cycle my son and I will find ourselves in. We tend to just go with the flow.

Matthias

I used to be that way, those were the days.

Now I need a schedule, which gets in the way because I travel to Spain a lot. It takes me 2 - 3 days to get on schedule there then another 2 - 3 when I get back.

Card 4 is the Emperor

I wouldn't ignore you and you're not being nosy. My husband grew up in Spain so we go back to see his friends and his parents still have a house there. We check on the renters, do any work they need, etc. We hope to retire there, it's really beautiful. I tried to get a job there, I'm a database administrator, but my spanish wasn't good enough.

The White Book contains Ramtha's teachings, it's a pretty good book. I haven't read the Kryon Parables, are you going to write a review here for it?

Yes, I plan on writing a review of it when I finish it. Here's the book if you or anyone else wants to take a peek:

You're right Shannon, it should be 8.

Not a problem, I understand. If you've got some rosemary, eucalyptus or peppermint oil put a few drops in a bowl of boiling water and breathe in the steam, that always helps me when my sinuses give me trouble.

My deck arrived yesterday. I only had time to scan through them last night, they're really pretty, I love the artwork. Hopefully this weekend I'll have some extra time to sit down with them for a while and take a look at the book.
