The tag line says "The rich behaving badly - Again." And they really do

Is anyone else hooked on this PBS program? In the past Soames has not been one of my favorite people. But I when I saw last years rerun of him picking up his new daughter I remembered that he is capable of loving deeply.

Can't wait to see what happens now that he and Irene are married to diferent people and both have new babies

Well, so much for babies. The early years were skimmed over and now the children are already old enough to get into trouble, have misadventures and date. Soames' daughter and Irene's son have discovered or re-discovered each other and are romantically involved, much to their parents dismay

OMG, another Forsyte Saga fan!!!

Get this: we didn't have local channels on satellite because we just aren't interested in what ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. offers. However, when we saw that the Forsyte Saga was coming back in another installment (thanks, TV Guide!), I called them and signed up that night.

It's not as riveting as the first series, but it's still great! (I admit, the reason why I watched initially was because of Ioan Gruffudd who played Irene's lover Bosinney...and end up getting killed. I've been a big fan of Gruffudd's ever since seeing A&E's Horatio Hornblower series.)

Has anyone else read the Forsyte books? I did and they were wonderful! Tracked them down at a used bookstore after i saw the series on Masterpiece Theatre. Very descriptive and evocative of the times ... an enjoyable slice of history. Also happens to be one of my favourite periods.

I also think the first series was better than the second, and not just cause I read the book in-between. They definitely left out a lot more in the 2nd series. I totally recommend the books.

Janet

I was not familiar with Gruffudd, but I will be on the look out for him now.

You are correct Forsyte II is not as exciting as the first, but still super. I do look forward to watching them each week. I wonder if anything will come from Irenes mild flirtation while she was away with her son?

I have not read them but am interested getting all of Galsworthy's books. I have checked Amazon and Alibris - I was hoping to get hard copies, I am having a hard time finding them If I can't find I will just go ahead and buy the paperbacks. Am going away next weekend and know of a good used book store so wish me luck. Either way I will definately get the Forsyte Saga.

Did it take you a while to find the books?
