Lynn,
Thanx for your thoughts....
Yes there will always be differences. I believe that "being Saved", or rather coming into the full knowledge of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross at calvary is such a turning point in our lives that we are compelled to draw closer to him and study more closly his teachings. I'm in the middle of preparing an article called "Dissecting the Sermon on the Mount" It's an exploration into the commands Jesus taught on the mountain side. Why did he give so many directions for living if we could go on and live any way we wanted under the umbrella of grace? I think it's the compulsion to follow Christ, or strive to follow after Him, that so many of us miss and that's what is being glossed over in so many of our churchs.
We're shown how to look at our neighbor and pass judgement on the unsaved, but we never seem to know how to truly follow Jesus. This subject came up as the result of an argument with my husband on "What it meant to act like a Christian". Oh, by the way, my husband was the one who showed me that I was clinging to the "judgement doctrine" and not hungering for Christ.
Also with there being so many Christian sites on Bella...I have to stand out some how!! You guys are all just so good!!!
