So I'm having a conversation on a list about whether homeschooling parents should have some sort of special teacher training. If you can help, or know someone else who would be interested, would you please read this and respond, or pass along?
I would like to write an article about it and I need the viewpoints from different people.
-Pro certification homeschoolers
-Pro cert. non-homeschooler
-Pro & Con teachers who are now homeschoolers (as in, did your cert. help you in homeschooling)
-Con cert. homeschoolers
-Con cert. non-homeschoolers
If you can help, please answer these questions:
1. Do you think homeschooling parents need special teacher certification?
2. Why or why not?
For the sake of the article, please include your name (first is fine), state, # of children, and if you are a homeschooler/teacher/non-homeschooler. If you don't wish to provide this info I will simply call you Jane with a disclaimer that your name has been changed to protect your identity.
