Madeline,
Be your own guide...and READ, READ, READ.
Read EVERYTHING that you can get your hands on...astrology, herbology, crystology, mythology, astronomy, styles of divination, candles, color, numerology comparative religion, philosophy, art, symbology, reincarnation, spirit communication,healing...the more you learn, the more you'll find out there is to learn. Also, the more you read, you'll get a feel for in what areas your interests, and talents really lie.
DON'T let anyone tell you that they know everything there is to know about the Craft, because no one does...it's an ongoing process. If someone tells you
that you have to do something that you think is wrong, or uncomfortatble to be a Witch...RUN. There are many good/reputable teachers out there. But the student/teacher realationship is NEVER one-way. The student also teaches the teacher. Constantly be asking questions, but draw your own conclusions. Afer all, this is the "Craft of the Wise" ...Magick Happens...ps,oops! I forgot astral projection, time travel, animal communication, clairvoyance, telepathy, psychometry, auras...it goes,on,and on...

Wonderful advice Silver Moon!

I agree that reading on many subjects is very important. But also, Wicca is a path of learning through experience so don't be afraidt o try some of the exercises and meditations that you might find along the way. Or to go out and just try to meditate and experiance the things around you.

One of my favorite things to do is to go and stand in the creek near where I live and feel the power of the water flowing past me. Any of this type of experience helps you along your path.
