I came across wonderful site called Craftstore.com. They had unbeatable prices on base products so I ordered.

I'm DISAPPOINTED Big Time!!

According the website and the shipping email all four base products were shipped out together. And I was charged on my card for ALL FOUR items.

Only 1 base item showed up. According to the invoice the other three items are on Back Order. I've tried to call the company but their voice mail is full.

I've also discovered since placing this order that in the last month or two this has been a rampant problem with Craftstore.com. There have been numerous complaints filed according to what I've read.

I've got a brand new retail account waiting on products. I'll be ordering from Bitter Creek. This has been expensive lesson. At least now I know that awesome customer service and honesty are worth more.

I believe I will also be canceling my American Crafters Association membership as well. Since they are directly affiliated with CraftStore.com I don't think I want to do business this way.

Hi Cheryl,

I haven't had any dealings with Craftstore.com and I feel really bad for you and for others who have been taken in by them. I'm writing because it seems to me that you have a golden opportunity here to get them shut down. As a small business owner myself, I am ultra-conscious of the activities of my customers regarding credit cards. If they were to ever dispute a charge I know that the card companies would investigate the claim of the customers (good!). If the claim appears justified, questionable, or the vendor doesn't have shipping receipts to back up a claim of shipping, then a chargeback *will* be issued. The customer would get his/her money back and the vendor gets a hefty chargeback fee tacked onto the statement. It sounds like you have proof that items that you were charged for weren't included in the order (packing slip?). Dispute the charges and encourage all of your wronged readers to do the same. With credit card processors, a history of disputes, chargebacks, etc. is the kiss of death... Craftstore.com's lender, bank, etc. will drop them like the proverbial hot potato... they won't be able to find new banks or card processors and will be out of business, at least as far as credit card orders go. It won't just be Craftstore.com... unless the operation is very large or the owner very clever, I bet the transaction are tied into a social security number. GET YOUR MONEY BACK! Find out what city/state Craftstore.com is licensed in and turn them in to the Chamber of Commerce, BBB, etc. Maybe they don't even *have* a license... even better for you!

Hi Anne,

The owner of Craftstore.com has had tons of disputes filed on him re credit card orders. He's also had numerous BBB complaints filed and now compalints with the Attorney General are being planned.

He's now moved his company to a different state and people are being told it was bought by someone new. That's false.

He's also suspected of starting companies to send out these partial orders and charge full price saying the other items are on backorder, make his money and then declare bankruptcy, only to start all over again somewhere else.

On another board it's also been pointed out that he set up a site offering free flags to anyone who made a money donation after 9-11. Nobody got flags but apparently he got the law's attention because there is no record of any charity involvement by him or any of his companies. That site has since been shut down.

We want to put the word out so newbies will stay away from him. Filing complaints doesn't seem to help. I've tried to contact the Yahoo shops but nobody ever pays attention or responds.

I'm going to run short on stock for my big craft fair in Dec because of what he did. I've started my little biz on a total shoestring all by myself. Literally coin by coin and some jerk like him takes adavantage of us.

OOO, I'm gettin off my soap box now. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Makes me so mad I could just spit!
