My first cruise was this Easter 2005 on The Rotterdam. Holland America. I really have no other basis for comparison but I'm guessing it doesnt get much better than: Old-school, white gloved service; Fabulous continental food; big rooms w/ big views; bathroom w/shower AND tub; Over-the-top dessert options nightly; and then there was Half Moon Cay, their own private island in the Bahamas.
Here is what sold me..I am a professional artist, a botanical illustrator. Specialty? Orchids. Every table (there must have been 100s), had live, potted orchids of every kind, color, variety, imaginable! What a fabulous extravagance.
I didn't vacation-I sketched non-stop!
