I am a huge believer of tarot, higher power etc. Any way by mistake we discovered that I can douse (I use a crystal but can use anything) When people find out or I tell them, 98% of them kinda get weird. I actually use it to find stuff I loose like the remote, earrings, etc. Recently I had to go to a town meeting we were all on the bus (it was far away) and I was reading about Victorian Grimoire when a few saw it, they all started talking. The first thing they asked...."Do you know what Dousing is"? It was great, I breathed a sigh of relieve. turns out the people around here believe and are not afraid of tarot, dousing, etc. WHEW <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

People who know me usually figure out that I have some "unique" gifts long before I tell them. Here, where I live, the people also believe and use dousing to find water, place their homes before building, etc.

I help the neighbors find things they've lost too! So, when the phone rings around here it's usually a "psychic emergency"! LOL

You've brought up an interesting part of using methods that seem "beyond belief." Dousing is an ancient art that draws on our inherent energy, our connection to the earth and to our environment. I am happy to hear that you are received well - I know several "gifted" people who feel they have to hide their abilities, due to other people's prejudices. They are branded as kooks or even worse, evil.

Your particular hometowns sound wonderful though. I find it is the same here, in Western Canada - for the most part.

Actually, we found a really weird thing about my artwork a few years ago. My best friend asked me to do a portrait of her, I don't remember doing the painting, but it turned out really weird. I painted my friend, with another face kind of wrapping itself around hers. Well, we were just kind of looking at it, when her mother came in and freaked out! Turns out that the face I painted looks JUST like an aunt of hers that died!

Other than that, no real abilities (besides my art) but I really do believe in this kind of thing (probably why I make nice decks <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) and most people jsut kind of go quiet, then change the subject <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
