I think the ones who do not use type with all the little diacritical marks are the ones who know the marks will not come through in international email. I have received some email that I can barely read because all the special letters come through as weird symbols. My Polish friend said it would affect pronounciation, but not meaning, except in a couple of cases.

Wow! Dee,
Very impressive.. Not only did you answer my question.. You went on to answer in a way that was better than I could ever do..
Sooo, now. Where does that leave us? My suggestion to you is do what I do.. I found friends in Poland that I correspond with..They write in English, and I write in Polish. We all benefit.. Poles love Americans. They long for information about America..I got to the point where I very seldom use a dictionary.. If the spelling is wrong, they overlook it.
I think that we have gone as far as we can in this forum on that subject.. But I will continue on with my friends in Poland... Dee, You and I are the last of our generation to speak the language.. After us. It is all over

Pan Cybulski...may I call you Blazej, if that's correct?

Thank you for joining in here. I now realize what you say about the polish fonts not appearing correctly, so will not worry about it.

Please, please do correct the answer I gave Frank earlier...I had to get my dictionary and phrase book out to do that, so am not certain I had the proper terms...and it took me quite a while to write. Which really is a good lesson!

You probably want to use your English here (which is very good), and we are trying to improve our Polish, which is very bad!

 Maybe we can help each other this way? or some other?

LOL NANCY,
Yes I did promise. Ok here goes. I asked her.
Dee, how many years has it been since you were able to hold a conversation in Polish with anybody?

Her first answer was that she was not sure of the question.
BUT!
Her answer to me was that. When she went to Poland last fall, she bought a Polish speaking CD,and a book.. These are the tools that she is using to recall her Polish..

And as far aS NOT UNDERSTANDING ALL THE WORDS IN MY QUESTION, THERE WERE ENOUGH IN THERE THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO PUT IT TOGETHER.. I find this to be true in my case..There are words that I do not recognize, but I get help from the others
Nancy, I still think that this is a good idea.. But we need more help.. I am not qualified to teach it..My Polish contacts are wonderful..They teach themselves to speak English, as well as I do trying to improve my Polish.. LOL,, there are some words that are best not to know.. HA HA..
Nancy,, you keep at it..You can do it.. You are a very brilliant person.. I will help in anyway that I can.. Blazej is willing to help..

Frank

Frank...

Thank you for the compliments on my Polish. (See my reply to Blazej) I know it's not correct, and may even have the wrong words, but as you said, it's worth trying.

Maybe I need to get a pen pal like you to keep this up. It just takes me forever to figure out how to translate anything.
I know the ins, ands, or buts, just get stumped on the nouns and actions. Seems like in English we spell out more, but in Polish, it's an understood meaning in the the form of the word.

Ok, so Dee wrote:

Instead of this it should be:

Panie Franku!

Nie rozumiem wszystkiego co Pan tutaj napisal.
Ja zaczelam uczyc sie polskiego z CD-Rom'u i ksiazki podczas przygotowania do moich wakacji w Polsce we wrzesniu ubieglego roku.
Czy to jest to, o co Pan pytal?

Of course these sentenses could be written in polish in a different way without losing their sense...
