Sorry Jaga, many journalists are stupid and they think that all the people who follow their stories are even more stupid. As for the English press; they will and do publish things that are untrue or half-truth if it fits their purpose. The BBC et al were always against the war in Iraq and if it fits their purpose, they will lie. The soldiers "confession" was published by some journalist and I do not believe it. I would have to be in that prison, at the time and actually see the "incident" to believe it. Sorry, I have no faith in journalists or their work. If they said the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, I would have to check it out myself to see if it was true. I would believe the moon is made of Green Cheese before I believe a Journalist. We are all forgeting 'WAR' and it's consequences on the human psyche.

It is not unusual to find such behaviour in the midst of a military force. Somehow war brings out the best/beast in us. I don't care what military we pick nor what war time we choose. There is always some form of brutality by all parties concerned.

Now, you place the circumstance behind prison walls and you compound the problem.

Whether this is true or not, it is not surprising to me at all.

Well Skeeter, I thought I could run that Great Wall from bow to fantail and anything left over could be placed from port to starboard. We could always send those "o so smart Journalists" looking for about 6 fathoms of chow line. I understand your strong feelings against it. I have no proof that this is true or not. But, I do not believe that it is impossible. Every war had its own cruelties.
I heard that Karpinski may not be responsible for it since it was under the secret service command. You do not believe that pictures are real, what about the soldiers, I guess, they admitted to wrongdoing, there was no question about it

Jaga, Sorry I still don't believe it. Anyone can be placed anywhere at any time with the help of photo editing software. Those "confessions" were only second hand info. I still take the position of "Doubting Thomas". Today the Golden Gate Bridge does not exist; it fell into san Francisco Bay. I saw it happen last night on the NBC mini-series 10.5. By the way, how are you? I noticed that the earthquake started in Washington State and went down through California. Tonight that earthquake is going to continue and wipe out Los Angelis. In the 1930's, a broadcast of "War Of The Worlds" was made and a lot of people believed that it was true. yes there are tortures on both sides. I guess, we have to admit it. Not all Iraqis who fight against Americans are bad men. Some have been just brainwashed just like some Americans are also brainwashed.
