I have naturally light brown/dirty blonde hair and have been getting it highlighted light blonde for 2-3 years, every 6 months. However, I was wondering if instead of getting a bleach blonde color like my hairdresser does, I could perhaps try another color? I last highlighted my hair in April and plan on doing this sometime in October. Would a different highlighting color work in my hair? What looks best in light brown/blondish hair? Thanks.

You can go to several other shades or combinations.
A high-lift blonde (instead of bleach) would give you a softer tone.
A combination of highlights in light blonde(bleach) and high-lift blonde gives a really nice variation in shades.
Add to that a low-light (a shade darker than your natural) and then you're getting a really classy color.

Hi, Mel!

I have the same color hair and I used to love to "paint" my hair. You control how many highlights you want by brushing the mixture on your naturally light strands.

I have used Loreal Brush on Highlights for blonde hair and Revlon also has a highlights kit. They run $7 - $10 and have complete instructions. Simply mix the powder with the liquid (I use half of each and tend to be conservative the 1st time I paint). You can go back and add more highlights a few weeks later with the other half, if you want.

I think this is the easiest way to lighten my naturally light streaks and it really turns out great! Good Luck!
