A new documentary about Carl Laemmle, founder of Universal Pictures, is being released. Laemmle was known for employing female directors in the 1910s and aiding refugees during WWII. The doc will be the opening night film of the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival on May 2nd. Writer-director Peter Bogdanovich, who appears in the doc, will be in attendance.
