Next year my extended family is thinking of doing a Disney Cruise instead of just spending the week at Disney. We ordered the travel video.

Anyone gone on a Disney cruise and want to share their experience?

Our two daughters and their families are going on one this coming spring and wanted all the grandparents to go along. My husband and I opted out because I don't want to spend that much money to be surrounded by a bunch of tired, over-stimulated children and their tired parents.

A friend of mine who is actually a professional clown has been on a couple of these cruises as a working performer and she said she'd never do another for the above reason.

I've done a Disney cruise before and really enjoyed it. One option you might want to consider is splitting your vacation time between the Disney theme parks and a 3- or 4-night Disney cruise. Disney has packages that make it easy to do that. Have you spent much time at the Disney theme parks before?

Keep us posted and let us know what you decide!

My husband and I took our kids to Disney World about 3 years ago. We visited all 4 major parks and 1 of the water parks. We would love to take a Disney cruise but we have 7 kids so the prices seem so out of reach for us. We recently started paying on a "regular" cruise for our family that we will take in June.

That's great! Which cruise line will you be going on with your family? Keep us posted!

That's fantastic! Royal Caribbean is a great cruise line for families. I can't wait to hear all about your trip.

Disney cruises are such fun! For those who want to combine Disney with a cruise, remember that there are lots of ways to do so. In addition to sailing on a Disney Cruise Line ship, one can always combine a multi-day visit to the Disney Parks with a cruise experience on other lines sailing from Port Canaveral or Tampa. Many cruises from other East Coast ports also include Port Canaveral on their itineraries, so it's possible to take a shore excursion to Walt Disney World on your day there.
