The DH and I agreed (boohoo) to take digital pictures to try to save money so that's all I've been using the past 2 years. The technology is fun but I worry about these photos 40 years from now. Has anyone done any research or heard anything negative about scrapping with digital home-processed pictures?

You know, I would worry about that too, but I have heard they will last quite a while.

Personally, I think scrapping them would make them last longer, too. so it is a good thing <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Molly uses digital photos as well.

well not exactly digital. I wish I had a dgital camera, but I scan and print a lot of the photo's I scrap.
I am behind on my scrapbooking. I am still working with my regular pictures from my 35mm. I am going to be starting using my digetal pictures soon. I have a bunch on line I have to order to print.

I have at least 5 family occasions to get done. I have to get done befor Christmas comes. That the biggest at times and the hardest.

Hi LauraB...I have a dig camera and what I do to save money and get the longest lasting pics is to review the pics on my computer, then I take my storage device to Costco or Sam's club and only request the pics that I wanted from my computer review. My Costco only charges $.19 per print and they are processed the same as film so the pics should last as long as film pictures.

You know, we can never be sure about anything. When the magnetic albums became popular we were surely told they were THE best way to store our pictures... So, I think that what we should do is to carefully preserve the negatives and disks, and also make an extra copy of the pictures we scrap (because those are surely the best ones) and keep them in an acid box or other 'container' <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hey to Scraperpam and Sylvie-good comments from both of you. I want all the effort I'm putting into these albums to last years and years from now for my children's children!
thanks~L
