Plaids have always had a traditional strong presence for the fall and winter seasons. From the many customary tartan plaids of the Scottish Highlands to the red, black, camel and white English Burberry signature design – plaids are a very distinct and memorable style maker.

Matching patterns in fabric is always a challenge. When shopping for clothing with plaids or other patterns, I recall checking to be sure the patterns matched. You don't see much matching today.


I recall my mother when she was sewing, she was very careful when she laid out the pattern on the fabric.
