I'd love to see some links if you do have a blog. I just started a new one at TypePad after having one at RadioUserland for the past year or so. Too many problems at RU, though, and I've decided to move on.

The new one is only a few days old and has just a handful of posts. TypePad has a cool photo album feature, and I've added a couple of knitting pics and several shots of my orchids

Let us see some of your links! I'll add them to my links list, too.

Karen,

I'm interested in creating a blog but I'm not sure where to start. I'm concerned about investing a lot of time and energy in a host then experiencing issues (as you did) that force me to move on. Also, do you mind if I ask about the cost?

Thanks,

Monica,

I really like using TypePad and feel that I will be able to stay there and be happy with the service. They offer a 30-day free trial and then have 3 different pricing levels, starting at $4.95 a month.

RadioUserland is nice software, but requires a lot of effort to set everything up and maintained. I could do it, but just don't want to spend so much time fooling around with it.

Blogger.com is a free service that a lot of people use--I've never tried them, though.

Good luck on whatever you decide and feel free to ask lots of questions.

Karen,

I've started a blog at TypePad also. We'll see how it goes... I'm a reporting and database kinda' girl. I've had no experience with web development.

Thanks for the offer of assistance with questions, I'm sure I'll need it.

There isn't much on mine at this point but we'll get there. Here's a link:

This was a pleasure to create.

Thanks!

A question on blog etiquette....

Should you ask permission before including someone's blog link on your own? Just wondered.

(Of course, if the other blogger is part of the same ring as you, someone cycling through your blog would eventually hit the other individual's blog as well.)

Thanks!

I've never had anyone complain about me adding a link to their blog. I think most people would be happy to be linked

Thanks for the info. I just wanted to be sure. I would hate to offend someone while I'm thoroughly enjoying myself!

Karen,
thanks for sharing about Type Pad and blogging. That is something I am interested in also. Blogs are fun to read and learn from , and I really enjoy the pictures of knitting and tatting in progress.
