Fall is my favorite time of year! I love decorating, I love the cooler weather, I love digging out my sweaters, and especially my favorite wool poncho imported from Ireland. I love the hot pumpkin spiced lates from Starbucks, and I love the pumpkin spice candles that are now available! I LOVE the smells of fall and the flavors of fall.

How is everyone else enjoying fall?

I commend you for your obviously exquisite taste - Autumn IS the best time of year.

I never grokked whether that was simply because I'm a child of the Fall (Bday - October) or just because it's so self-evident. But I digress.

I save things for each season too, special evocations that herald in the time. Autumn gets:

Lapsang Souchong Tea (smells like Bonfires)
Velvet Throws
Shawls from exotic realms
Certain movies like Practical Magic, Sleepy Hollow, Pirates of the Carribean, The Craft, The Crow, etc.
Spiced Teak Candles

Mmm. I could go on, but the cold rain is falling and there's a tree turning gold in my yard whilst Hot Cocoa and Chili await me.

Where I live, we have 2 seasons - summer and winter (or maybe I should say summer and Indian summer; really hot and not so hot?). We economize and skip fall/spring.

Oh it's wonderful S p r i n g here! It's so pretty and the weather's warming up finally - it's amazing how it sparks my creativity! I seem to want to hibernate through winter, so hard to get any motivation. But now I'm flying...
Fall has always been my favorite time of year.

I love wearing jeans and sweatshirts or sweaters.

I love golfing in the fall.

I love fall decorations and Halloween.

On the chilly evenings there is nothing better than curling up on the couch in the evening with a light blanket and good book.

Fall bonfires are wonderful.

The colors of fall are just breathtaking.

And oh yes Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte is also a great addition to the season.

Hi Lisbeth! It's so good to meet you. And I must say that I do believe it to be the VERY best time of year.... I'm a Summer Baby, and I still love Autumn the most!

I LOVE your movie list for the Fall! Definately some of my favorites.

MMmmmmm... yes... velvet throws....

Spiced candles....

I am so happy that pumpkin spice creamer is available in the grocery stores now.... hot and yummy.... and what I'm enjoying at this very moment!

HA HA.... aw Lynn, sometimes it feels that way here too LOL. I'm in Southern California, and it can still be pretty hot in October. I've been watching, and there are not too many trees displaying red and gold leaves yet... mostly just dried up But the air is cooling down and smelling like Autumn anyway.

Pumpkin Spiced Lates certainly help!

Hi Elle,

Ahhh... Spring... It is rejuvinating, isn't it!

I have been getting very contemplative with the arrival of the Autumn. Really been trying to organize and cut back... What am I tolerating that it's time to get rid of? That's what I'm working with now. I find myself getting rid of projects that aren't bringing me happiness.

Oh yum--I love fall (spring also). My office space is near a window and I am looking at trees that are just turning shades of gold.

Hi Kris, I know exactly what you mean about wearing Jeans and sweaters. I have started pulling my sweaters out already.

These wonderful posts have put a huge smile on my face

I can't stand the autumn, I'm allergic to fallen leaves.

"Fall is in the air" nananananana...I LOVE the smell of burning leaves and I am soooo glad that my son had an oppurtunity to smell that before it is banned everywhere...

Of course it was 98 here the first week in October and there is a freeze warning here tonight...welcome to Missouri....cover the plants or bring them in OR plant new in the Spring...it is 49 right now and the wind is HOWLING..replanting is looking good!

I love having the first fire in the fireplace.
Baking apple pies and making a big pot of soup.
Having the windows open and the scent of the fresh fall air.
Feeling cozy under warm blankets.

And....Starbucks pumpkin scones and pumpkin loaf!
Lisbeth, you look like a "child of the fall" with that gorgeous hair! (I would've been jealous of that mane even before I lost my hair). I can just picture you as one of those autmun fairies!

And Chloe21 - I know just what you are talking about, I have been pulling out my crockpot and soup pot and making all sorts of soup and stews.

AND we can finally turn the air conditioner OFF and just open up the windows and let the breeze through - it's great!
Vannie, you are so lucky! I used to have an office with a big window and I loved it! Especially when it would rain!
Allergic to fallen leaves???? Oh dear! That must pose a bit of a problem
I got some cinnamon covered pinecones from the grocery store. The smell is INTOXICATING! We burn them in our little fire pit and they smell SOOOO delicious!!!

Deanna,

Oh yes, I love my window. I often sit here to drink tea and read for pleasure also. And when it rains, I am a happy little lark. There are sooo many things about my window and Autumn this Pisces child enjoys

Fall is also my favorite season but we have had such bad weather the last two weeks I hope that is over. When I was a kid you could burn your leaves in your yard I miss that wonderful smell and it was fun. One time in the 70's when we had a much bigger yard I burned some leaves in the garden and a helicopter flew over and I hid so they couldn't see me. Never again did I take that chance. Now they all go to the leave mulcher near us and are cooked for compost. Yuck!

Oooooh.... Pumpkin Spice Creamer sounds absolutely decadent!

I've been making my own blend of Tea this year - Chocolate- Jasmine from Adagio, which is my 2nd runner-up favourite Tea right now, watching the nights grow longer while a lonely chill hangs quiely in the air..

(Lovely to meet you, too)

Lis.

I prefer winter, all two or three weeks of it we might get here. My coats and sweaters rarely see daylight.

We buy cinnamon pine cones and set them out around Thanksgiving. Its usually still too hot here to have a fire indoors--our fireplace is more a decorative piece than a useful item. We'll usually toss the turkey on the smoker so we don't have to have the air conditioning on all day.

Of course, every once in a great while, it'll get cool enough for us to pretend we have a fall for a short bit. But those years are rare.

And I understand the "I'm allergic to leaves" comment. November will mark the start of Mountain Cedar season--and the start of Cedar Fever (allergies from h#$%).

Darlene,

I remember that smell too and absolutely loved it. Not sure how I would fare these days, everything makes me sneeze, cough, or my eyes water and become red Ah, the joys of getting older.

LOL, I can just imagine you hiding from those helicopters

I think I was born in the wrong place. The hotter the better, my 15yr. old daugher has asthma and allergies and you have to keep the house cool. So I have had my electric blanket out since JULY! I can't stand to be cold its beautiful for all the leaves to turn and the changes that are about to take place but the cold kills me.

Autumn is my favourite season as well. The leaves have started changing colours here in England. But they're not in full swing yet. Tried to put on one of my favourite sweaters yesterday and had to take it off. I got so hot in it. Guess I was a bit too eager!
Wow! Pumpkin spiced lattes!!!!! I love pumpkin (I'm originally from the states so pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cheesecake--I love it all). I hope they bring those pumpkin spiced lattes here to england. Around Christmas time, we do have eggnog spiced lattes. Oh, I love it!
I too look forward to bringing out my jumpers (sweaters); cute knee high boots, pashminas and the lot.

That's a fab idea to get rid of things that don't bring you happiness. It's good feng shui as well. Banish clutter!
[color:"purple"] Health, good luck and happy days to all! [/color]

That's nothing, I make my own milk.
LOL FamilyChoice! You always brighten my day!

One thing I do not like about fall is the RAGWEED!!! my sinuses are driving me nuts!
