I'll start. I like to write how-to's, and have recently explored the possibility of writing short stories and/or a novel.

Cool topic!

I like to write
- reviews
- how-tos
- advice (esp. love advice)
- what happened to me during the day.
I like to write about lots of things, many different things, how-tos, inspiratioanl, travel, I would love to write mysteries.

The trick is finding the time.

When writing, I love weaving personal experience and insights into a piece that teaches, inspires, challenges, and expands perspectives.

Usually, when I write it is for the sake of explaining difficult situations, disagreements, injustices, etc. Therefor, I often have negative associations, and thus, an aversion writing. Perhaps that is why I write on message boards. It is a way to write purely what I WANT to write about. Now, if I could only get myself to want to write about the things I NEED to write about, that would be lovely. How does one make that transition? I truly wish I knew...

i like writing poetry and play on words but not too excited about the scene haha...So I try to be funny on paper but its very difficult to get the nuances across that a good joke deserves...I like to read fictional stories but too lazy to organize one...I guess giving my opinion on all matters means most to me.

I like to write uplifting articles and I also share information/news that others share with me.

Finding the quiet time to brainstorm and then place it into words is awesome.

I prefer to write empowering essays. I am a motivational speaker and writer so, I tend to write in that vein. HOWEVER, occasionally, I get on my high horse and vent!

I like to write childrens stories.
I've thought about compiling a book of stories for children but have no idea at all how to do that and get it published.
I like to write when I need to let off emotions, so my writing ends up with many different tones. I am trying to write a novel, I just don't know if I will ever finish. I also write poetry, though I haven't written a poem in a while.

I like writing how-tos and technical articles, and I also write poetry and vignettes. I'm not very good at writing long fiction pieces. I have a hard time writing dialog that is believable. But, I keep working on it.

Take care,

Susan

Gees...I like to write so many different things that it is easier to just say I like to write.

Kidding aside, I write columns, short fiction, poetry, newsy articles, book reveiws, blogs (yes...those are my venting, fussing and complaining abou tmy day moments!) advertising copy... and oh, yes, did I forget novels.

I have a bit of a problem finishing novels though...one of them is about 1/2 done, with no clue of the ending, and the other is completely written in my head, I just can seem to get it all down. Then I have about 5 more novels wating in my brain...gee, now I'm depressed! LOL

I write out my dreams. Most are Stephen King-esque, so bizarre and surreal that I have to write them down. Since they are dreams, they are choppy and don't flow well. So, I'll try and piece events together with my imagination. I doesn't quite come together in the end. So I give up. I also have an entire novel in my head. Over the past two years, I've managed to get a few "chapters" out of the way but they are scattered all over the house, stuffed in file folder with old gas bills and in 2 or 3 different email accounts. Why is so hard to write? Any advise on how to get over the bumps?

I like to write dialog and short stories. I do lots of how-to stuff as well (which comes from being a tech writer). I get the biggest thrill by putting a new spin on an old topic.

I've written fiction, nonfiction, formal papers like my Master's thesis, and off-the-cuff pieces like my blog on b.com. I've written book and product reviews for mail order and online catalogs, and helped develop a company mission statement. I've been published a few times, mostly in places I would deem alternative press.

I love writing fiction and occasional poetry, especially haiku, but most of my published work has been non-fiction. One day, I'll be a published novelist ...I will..... at least I hope I will!

I love to write poetry and am working on a novel of past experiences, esp. the darker sides of life. U know, like suicide and depression. But, i also like to take the time and vent, get my emotions out, but with a 6 week old its a little hard. Good luck to everyone.

I love to write as well, but I would love to be fashionable. Is anyone creative on paper and off?...apparently if you know someone who is stylish and hip you can use your pen skillz to nominate them for the Uni-ball "America's Most Stylish" contest. You can go to the uni-ball web site for details and get the 411 on the contes...Anyone have a favorite stylish-fashionable writer?

I'm writing a novel and I only write after ten pm when everyone is in bed. I can't concentrate if they are awake. I work 30 hours a week, have 3 kids and help my parents who are elderly. It's hard to find "ME" time but I try. I"m hoping in the next 2 weeks I'll have most of it finished. This is my first novel and it's working out pretty well.

I like to write about quilts! In that view, I write informational articles about quilt history, reviews of quilt books, instructional patterns and books of my own. I enjoy sharing through personal letters, and through online forums and message boards. I have written a little bit of poetry.

In addition to published articles in various venues, we maintain a website about quilts and creative topics like photography, gardening, and travel (to quilt shows, what else?). Love those quilts!

I write about domestic violence, especially regarding the emotions that the victims feel. However, my books are not the typical storyline, but more of a fantasy genre. I also write poetry.

Fiction. I especially love what is in my imagination.

For non-fiction writing, I write about every topic under the sun. I do a lot of meditation / mindfulness articles as a ghostwriter, for other blogs.
