Do you have a bike in your house? What type of bike do you have? How often do you ride?

We have both mountain bikes and road bikes, but have been too busy this past year to ride them!! I'll have to try to carve out some time on weekends at least to go for a ride!

I have a mountain bike, have spent a fortune on it, the best there was. No it's in the service building with empty tires. No time nor adequate place to ride it. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I once was an ace. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Sort of ... didn't really use it on purpose, more to scout through the country roads. Could do a 360 defrees skid and similar stuff. I was actually wearing all kind of knee, elbow and wrist protection, because of the kind of stunts I was doing. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I guess the real purpose of this byke is to ride it across a mountain road. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> How's my logic?

You should make a resolution now that it's fall to ride it! This is perfect bike riding weather. Step 1 - get those tires set! If it sits there without tires you're never going to want to ride it <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

<img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Yes and no. It is a nice and healthy activity, but not for a student. Will barely have time to play FF. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Kidding ... other games too. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> In my list of hobbies riding a bike is certainly not it the last place, but also not in the first one. Will have time for only a couple of things to do like play some games and use Internet for a while. The rest will be sleeping, eating and studying ... very depressive if come to think of it. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

If you let your body atrophy now, it'll be even harder to get it going later on. Physical exercise is just as important as mental exercise. You can't eat and sleep more than say 9 hours a day, and there's no way you're in class for 15 hours. There has got to be at least an hour a day free for you to do some biking <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I sleep for 10 hours (no comments <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ). I'm at University for 8 hours more or less. It takes time to eat, to get some minor things done (take a shower, get dressed up, prepare for the classes), add another couple of hours. And also, I'm supposed to study for at least 2 and in many occasions 4 hours a day (when in the middle of the course). That makes it 24. And when I have free time, the cruel world has invented PS2 and PC and very time-consuming add-ons such as FFX. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I know it's bad ... not much I can do about it. On weelends I do have some free hours, but after a whole week of working, I just want to relax and do nothing, or something that requires little action - that is playing games. I play ICO now, by the way. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> There is no real way I can stop that "state of the art" bike from going rusty. Maybe some day.

Biking is a great way to relax! Physical activity relieves stress. I didn't see Ico as a stress reliever, if anything it was a stress-causer with its inane puzzles <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Luckily we finished that game in about 5 hours and then moved on to something a bit less icky.

I think I ranted about Ico in the gaming forum already, but really!! You have this princess that's twice the age of the boy, and yet all she can do is stand still going "I'm stupid, pull me in the direction you want me to go!" and meanwhile the boy is tugging her by her arm, running around, fighting enemies, dragging her to somewhere new <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Give me Tomb Raider any day! Now there is a woman that doesn't need to be yanked around to safety <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm on a pistol team, I don't need any guy (especially a guy half my age!) thinking he has to take care of the "little woman" <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well, they have made an excuse for Yorda, she's blind! OK ... I don't want to go back to that ultra-hot "cars" topic again, but I think that since she's blind and helpless and has been sitting in the cage for the most of the time, it's OK for the little boy to drag her around, and she IS the "little helpless women" type. I find it cute. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Looks touching at times. It does add some psychological value to it. Besides, it is original ... ICO has no kind of "life-meter bar" or something similar, so, draging Yorda into a black hole, is kind of a life meter for ICO ... innovative if you ask me. The game is cool, the puzzles are ... well ... they are't that hard. The hard part is to keep an eye on Yorda while you try to solve one.

Tomb Raider was great. But it began do degrade at high rate ... begining from the third game. In my opinion, of course. They promise to make a new one, that will be "refreshing". I'm trying to get 100% at GT3 <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> ... And also, Onimusha 2, soon comes out here, which I'm going to enjoy for a lot of time, just as I did with the first one. Then you'll have the DMC2 ... the MK:DA ... the NFS:HP2 ... and you want me to resist? <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

GTA3 was a lot of fun. Of course by the end everybody dies, which is a little depressing <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> You'd think he'd at least end up with someone. I suppose 8-ball is still around to be his friend <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I know several blind people and believe me, they're not helpless <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> This is her castle, if anything she should be leading Ico out <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I guess I wouldn't have minded if it was his little brother he was saving. Someone you would *expect* to need some help. But he's like an 8 year old kid and there's this 14 year old girl that can't even take a step on her own or even try to defend herself, all she can do is turn to the 8 year old kid and wait to see what he does next. It's exactly like she's a brainless zombie that he tugs from room to room. I found it rather depressing <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Far be it for me to say gaming is bad! I love gaming of all kinds. I'm just saying to not do any fun outdoor activities and *only* game is pretty unhealthy. The world is full of health problems caused by couch potatoitis <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Resist!

As far as helpless women go, I think you'll find that some women play at that because it's easier to get a guy to take care of them than to work for themselves. They have a built in servant! Women can easily change a tire, hammer a nail, carry in firewood, cook on a grill. Millions do it daily, it's not hard and in fact it can be fun! But for some owmen, if they can sit back and say "Oh Honey, that's a Man's Job" and watch soap operas instead, they enjoy having a servant. Some women use it as an excuse to get out of work.

But believe me, if that "helpless" woman has a child, and her child is threatened by something, you'll find out very quickly that in reality she is not helpless at all. It's all just an act that some women put on to take advantage of people. Movies love to show women running around with their hands in the air going "Help! I need a man to help me!" In reality, the woman would charge after her child and take action. Been there, done that! So it all comes down to priorities.

I suppose that Yorda has spent ALL her time in that cage, so she cannot really know her "own" castle. Also, the castle is full of broken bridges, fall off areas and is generally a dangerous place, so a blind person shouldn't risk going on by him/herself in this kind of area. She has no tools, blind people usually have to walk arround. Also, since she's been so much time in the cage, her physical form should be rather degraded I guess. It all seems reasonably coherent to me.

Gaming is great. It's very addictive. It's bad for physical health. It may be good for psychological and intellectual health, I guess.

OK I suppose I'll buy the blind, weak, emaciated, starving, brain-dulled theory <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Still, it would have been nice if they used an old, blind man instead of a young woman who did quite fine climbing ladders and leaping around <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Plus, how does she come running to you when you call, moving around obstacles and such if she's blind? <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have to point out how another woman, locked in a cell for a year or two, didn't turn into a weakling <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

As for navigating around in the castle. OK, I'll give you a special theory. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ICO, seems to shout out a single word when calling her, but maybe he really is telling Yorda where to go? Like "Half-meter to the right, careful, stairs ahead, keep to your left ..." and thing like that. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Programmers just didn't want to include all this navigational chit-chat in the game, so they made it simpler. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Yup, it's Sarah Connor and she was in SUCH amazing shape in Terminator 2. Very strong and sure of herself. She wasn't crazy, if you recall, they THOUGHT she was mad because she talked about the end of the world. But actually she was quite right about that.

Most of the women I grew up with were strong, intelligent and quite capable of taking care of themselves. So I suppose Sarah Connor strikes me in the same way - if there's a problem, she'll go in and fix it. I really liked that movie a lot! Just imagine being locked in a cell, your son off who knows where, and you KNOW that destruction is coming soon and only he has even a chance of stopping it. I would have broken out of there as soon as I could.

But back to the Ico-Waif <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> You seem to forget that she speaks a strange language that he doesn't understand, so it'd be strange if she understood him <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> But I'll go with this telepathic theory of yours <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
