Hi everyone, I've just started as Bella Online's Budget Travel Editor and I thought it would be a nice idea if I started a forum chat about any plans you might have for your holidays this year. Maybe we could inspire each other for any holiday ideas...particularly if they're on a budget! Looking forward to hearing about them. We have a large family so it makes the holidays a little easier, I have 8 siblings we all make a dish and head to moms :-)
Definitely travel to visit family and have a free place to stay! But while there be sure to treat them to something like a movie or dinner and don't act like you own the place even if you grew up there. Be a guest, but help and don't make it hard on who you visit.

Being in Nepal, family holidays are so cheap. Many people leave villages and farmland to move into cities. We have got many abandoned houses and farmland in our home town village. Visiting the hometown village, cooking in firewood, hiking and trekking with Himalayan view and visiting farm is very cost effective holiday.
