These are the times that try men's souls. So true. But it is an opportunity to slow down and do some things that we never seem to have time for in our daily lives.

Another seven days and we will have been quarantined 40 days since I last posted. Forty days is quite a number - 40 days wandering in the desert; 40 days fasting; 40 days of Lent; 40 days plus of quarantine. Quarantine by the way is 40 days. What renewal have you had thus far? Have you made any changes in your life? Are you taking time out to notice and pay attention to what goes on in your back yard? Are you in touch with friends and neighbors? There have been quite a number of podcasts via Zoom and webinars to keep me occupied for awhile each day. I've tried to learn something new every day. I pray that this quarantine comes to an end soon.

During all this time I had knee replacement surgery in September. That is life changing. All our vacations were canceled including the one we were to have in January of 2021. We were supposed to go to Oberamergau this past June. The Passion Play was begun 400 years ago as thanksgiving for surviving a plague. I thought it was ironic that it would have to be canceled due to a plague called covid. Hopefully, it will be held again in 2022. Well the wearing of the mask continues. Be safe and prudent; do not be afraid. God is with us.
