We had a very interesting speaker at our WINGS meeting today. He talked about discerning where God wants to lead us.

Three keys to faith in action: Upward, Inward, Outward.

What new action is a part of your Lenten offering for this year?
Am I Offering UP or Offering OUT?

If giving up something are you giving up
some activity to add prayer?
pessimism for optimism?
complaining to say something nice?

what else can we do?

We are reading The Road to Daybreak, a spiritual journey by Henri J.M. Nouwen. The first few chapters of the book provide an opportunity to look inward, to make time for reflection and prayer, and to examine where we are now. In our quiet time, hopefully, we will see ourselves, our world, and our God with new eyes.

What actions are you taking outward - Giving time to something special in your community; Giving alms. What else can you suggest?

I'm thoroughly enjoying this book. My situation at home helps me see more clearly what Henri sees at L'Arche. I am enjoying making quiet time for myself to read a book.

March 25 is Palm Sunday. How has your Lenten season been going?

Do you have any candidates or Catechumens getting ready for Easter Vigil?

Lent is almost over. Triduum begins - Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday. Last year I was at a Latin Rite church on Good Friday.

What are your plans?
