On the news today they said the fastest growing snack food in Canada is fruit. And in the US...chocolate.

Funny this question was asked. Just last night I had chocolate strawberries. It was so good and I couldn't believe that the chocolate had so little sugar in it. I got to eat both with very little sugar involved.

Strawberries and chocolate are an awesome combination. It's amazing how you can mix bitter chocolate with them and they still taste good. I don't consider strawberries overly sweet but it works.

I almost never make the effort to mix the two, but if given the choice I LOVE strawberries and chocolate. Either are pretty good alone, too. Strawberries are my favorite fruit.

At this time of year, I also like fresh navel oranges... I often cut some up and bring them to work with a fork ... just as juicy and not as messy. And bananas are a good quick filler-upper when you don't have time to stop for a bite.

Chocolate and Bannas are not bad either!

What other fruit can you put chocolate on besides bananas and strawberries?? I'm thinking maybe pineapples or melons, but I don't think those combos would work out very well.

Actually, they aren't bad. A friend of ours a couple years ago had a Fruit Fondue party. First time I'd ever been to won. It's amazing what chocolate is good with. The pineapple was really good.

Really?? Good to know. I'd love to try it.

You know what - I don't really care for chocolate. I'm serious. I've never seen its appeal. Now peanut butter is another issue. I could eat that stuff forever (if it didn't make me sick). Fruit is also OK.

OHhhh. Peanut butter and chocolate. Now there's a lovely combination. hehe

Peanut butter the crunchy, organic fair traded stuff, dark chocolate and strawberries - yummy!
Strawberries are my favourite fruit with raspberries coming second and then of course you can't beat a ripe nectarine!!

Fruit for my snacks! Only because if I start on chocolate, I'll never stop eating it.

There is a resturant that I always go to when I'm on vacation that serves (as an after dinner treat) a slice of pineapple dipped in dark chocolate. It's wonderful.

There's a fondue restaurant I visited when I was in Baton Rouge which was excellent. We of course had chocolate fondue for dessert. Mmm
I love fruit and cheese. I often open apricots and fill with soft goat cheese.

Two things--BTW, I'm definitely fruit & chocolate.

1--For my daughter's wedding, we had a chocolate fountain at the reception--it was our "ohmigosh" element (I always suggested one "ohmigosh" element back when I was in the hotel catering biz--carving station, ice sculpture, something spectacular) Anyway, they had fabulous Belgian chocolate in a fountain, with strawberries, grapes, bananas, Marischino cherries, pineapple, Rice Krispy treats, Oreos, and so on. I even had them put some on my piece of the fruit-filled wedding cake, and several guests were wishing they'd brought straws! Anyway, it was good on all the fruit!

2--If you mix Hershey's chocolate syrup with peanut butter---about equal amounts, but keep adding the syrup and stirring till it's the consistency & color of cake icing, then you have a fabulous creation--heat & pour on ice cream, spread on cake, dip fruit, or eat with a spoon! This is my personal RX for the very worst cases of PMS.

I love them both Now that dark chocolate is good for a person, I have been coating some berries and cherries with it. A nice special snack.

Fruit and cheese is wonderful as well. I don't have much of a taste for sweets but I do love savory things!

blueberries and chocolate make a terrific combination especially when you think of those antioxidants for anti-aging. That face got to stay young!

Dark belgian chocolate with fruit is the ultimate indulgence. Besides the fountain, try a dark chocolate fondue where you can dip fruit into.

Just came across this article on the health benefits of chocolate, specifically dark chocolate - http://paktribune.com/news/index.php?id=117829

Most of the times I will choose chocolate. With strawberries I add sugar and the rest I eat it like that (except that i get rid of the skin first when its a fruit with skin). I also love deserts with fruits but I hate it when it is with vegetables and meats (i can eat that combination but only when theres no chunks of the fruits so it has to be completely in liquid form - if not then i do not touch it and the only exception will be if Gordon Ramsay is the 1 who cooked it).
