What is your favourite Comfort Food and Why?
I haven't been able to have my favourite comfort food in years although I try hard to recreate it.
I use to live in a little Northern Town of Ontario. Population 3000. They had the best Poutine ever.
What's Poutine? Well it's french fries covered in cheese curds then drenched in spicy thick gravy. Muaw!
My favorite comfort food is the potato. Baked, topped with cheese, butter sour cream and any assorment of sauteed vegs.
Fried, lightly salted and fresh from the oil with fresh homemade mayo to dip.
Whipped light and fluffy, little milk, butter and sour cream.
As the heart of a soup, with a carrots, onions, and soup greens simmered until the flavors marry and served up with a warm buttered roll.
Diced and sauteed with onion, and green pepper homestly home fries delight...
Oh I do find great comfort in the dear potato!
:music: My favorite comfort food would have to be Mac-n-cheese. I swear I must have been a rat in a past life because I love my cheese and the oodles of noodles is a plus! :music:
Any kind of potato is good. Mac-n-cheese is great if done in the right hands. I have an awesome recipe. I may have to share it in a future article.
Baked ham, my daughter's garlic-sour cream mashed potatoes, baked acorn squash with brown sugar and butter. Now you know why I fit ? in this category! For a fast pick-me-up, it's toasted peanut butter & jelly sandwich dunked in hot chocolate (made with hot water).
day old corn chowder thats been sitting on the woodstove simmering all day with corn bread...at just the right temp...nice and warm but not so hot that it burns your mouth.
I don't think I can narrow it down to one! Mac-n-cheese ABSOLUTELY, little wiggly French fries with ketchup (the ones that are the worst for you healthwise), half-melted ice cream, PUMPKIN PIE . . . .
Kimchi Chigae! Kimchi is a spicy fermented cabbage. My mother used to always make Kimchi Soup for me when I was feeling depressed. Even now, I still find myself heading over to a Korean Restaurant whenever I need a pick-up.
A Teenburger dipped in ketchup. And Coffee Crisps. I love Canada!
I love Coffee Crisps. LOL
Depends on what's around. Ice cream is on the top and it's just something that just feels so good to eat.
My other one is anything that's bad for me and crunchy (junk food!), just because I get so frustrated and I guess I can't choke someone so the crunch gives me the satifation of it.
Especially when the kids are on the PS2 or I just don't want them around when I play it (drives me crazy when they tell me how to play a game! GRRRRRR but that's another forum. lol)
Also, Tacobell is another confort food of mine.
Bread in any disguise:
PB and J sammies
Toast and butter
Bread and butter pudding
actually just bread fresh crusty bread yum!
I have favorite foods but no comfort food.
Pizza Rolls and Red Vines!
pizza is my favorite anytime food.
Always wait for 'noodles' it's one of my special food item into my food menu.
Mashed Potatoes and Corn!
Mashed potatoes and corn are two of the best comfort food I have too. Add gravy to my mashed potatoes, please!

Potatos all the time. And of course it's one of our common vegetables for cooking.

My favorite comfort food right now is barbecue. I ate one stick of bbq at dinner and I felt better with the delicious food in my tummy. Yum! q(^-^q)
Who else like some BBQ?

We had barbecue chicken last night for dinner, and today for lunch, we are having leftovers. I am bad. In place of a vegetable, I am having my chicken with Fritos.
That sounds appetizing, Chel. That's okay, sometimes you need to forget the vegetable. I do! ╰(✧∇✧╰)

Lately I've been eating lots of ravioli and pirogies. I need to dial that back a bit ...
Starch is part of a great comfort food.
Truly, but I want to completely cut off starch.
