Hello everyone,

This week's article is about the Open Game License for 3.x. It contains a full rules system. Instead of writing about the system this week I figured an article about the OGL itself would prove useful.

Have you tried gaming with content from the OGL? What's been your experience?

Did you ever publish something under the license? How about trying other systems that use content from it?

You could also check out Pathfinder. It has an open gaming license, it's better edited and playtested, and it has active support.

I've written lots for both systems. I think the Pathfinder version is easier and more robust.
Hello Lloyd,

Definitely. I've gotten to play some Pathfinder and it's great, too. There's the common joke that it's D&D 3.75 going around smile

Their SRD is linked in the article because I view it as more robust as well. Not sure about easier yet, though. That might be because I was taught on 3.0.
