Which is the better scripting language:

ASP, CF, PHP, JSP, CGI?

I think it has a lot to do with your past experiences. Those who like one language over the other do so because they are more familiar with one. But with a little experience with a new language, the differences between them seems to lessen. It also depends on the project and which language is better suited for each project.
