It was Christmas night, 1776, in Trenton, New Jersey. Fourteen-hundred Hessian troops (German soldiers hired by the British Empire) were camped in Trenton. After their evening meal, the soldiers began to relax and fell asleep, not expecting to do battle on Christmas night. Their guard was down, they had no outposts or patrols on guard.

There are two articles to cover the Battle of Trenton. First link is:

Battle Of Trenton - Christmas 1776

Second article can be found at following link:

Battle Of Trenton 1776 - Victory

I hope you enjoy reading these articles as much as I enjoyed writing them. I love feedback, so all comments are most welcome. Thank you. smile
A few days ago my brother called me to go shopping with him. I asked if we could go later because I was "right in the middle of the battle."

I get so involved when writing about battles of the Revolutionary War -- I feel as if I am right there with Washington and his troops. I can almost hear the gunfire and it gets so tense.

I really enjoy history. smile
