My parents were divorced when I was a toddler then remarried before I started school. I wish I could say I had positive thoughts on that.

Sometimes re-marriage doesn't work. I am glad that my parents didn't re-marry.

My Dad married a wonderful woman he met 3 years after his divorce. She became my beloved step-mother and basically saved my life. My mother was an unhappy person who took a lot out on me her only child.

When I think of the word mother my step-mom comes to my mind.

I was so relieved to end my first two marriages, that re-marriage
would never have been an option. And had I stayed, I would have
missed the chance to marry the man that I have lived happily with
for the past eleven years.
