I started a latch hook rug a couple of years ago and decided to finish it. It is a fish shaped rug - any suggestions on how to finish it off once I finish it? Is it better to trim it and add a cotton tape around it (shaped like a fish) or should I add additional yarn in blue to make it look like it is in the water?
There was an arts festival here recently and a young artist had hooked rugs on display. They were beautiful. She also had a small square one (the size of a coaster) that she said was her artist calling card. It was very interesting to see the pieces she had done. People are so talented.
I could use some help:
Several years ago I finished two Christmas hooked rugs. I want to complete them and hang them up. Do you have any suggestions?
I thought I would fold the edge of the canvas over. Should I use quilting thread to stitch it down or something else? Should I bind it with bias tape? Will that be enough to make sure the hanging keeps its shape?
All suggestions greatly appreciated.
