There is a tradition of wake-up music in the US space program. NASA is looking for an original song for the final Shuttle mission early next year. One criterion is "Relation to or suggestiveness of human spaceflight," but that's pretty broad.

If you write your own songs--or know someone who does--why not consider taking your music to a wider audience? The submission deadline is January 10, 2011.

Original Wakeup Song Contest Rules

It would be pretty cool to have a BellaOnline reader waking up the astronauts!
Love your post as usual!
Who's writing songs in hopes of waking up the astronauts on the final Shuttle mission? I don't know who, but I have seen a map that says where the songs are coming from. You won't be surprised that most are from the USA and Canada. In South America, Peruvians have submitted the most songs. In Europe, songwriters in Great Britain, Spain, Italy and Russia have submitted the most.
