Having a forum to discuss cultural aspects and traditions that many are unfamiliar with is a great way to expand ones' knowledge base and acquire an appreciation for others' beliefs & actions.

Beetle I admire your facility with words, and you often make me laugh (your post here being an example!). I was just aware that I would like to see the topic expand, not contract. No offence taken.

There is a major Indian cultural awareness event that was in Washington, DC last week. It was well advertised in the newspapers, but the weather was frigid to draw in any interest.
