Hi all:

Has anyone heard of those programs where countries in Asia pay English speaking people to come to their country and teach English in schools for a year? Has anyone ever done this? Is it safe, fun etc etc?

I've recently seen some websites for teaching English in Korea. Anybody have any experience with this or know somebody who has?

There are several reputable companies that offer job placement services. There is always a risk, but make sure you really check out the company before you sign up. Can you find anyone who has gone through them before, are they well received on other websites?

My friend actually spent two weeks in Japan working for a bookstore, teaching english. It's a worthy endeavor, she says, and as soon as I talk with her again, I'll ask for the details.
