Should parents have the option of sitting in on lessons in the public school classroom?

I often wished that I had a camera in my classroom. Used correctly, it could serve as a teaching tool for me, my students, and school administrators. Used poorly, it could be an instrument of punishment and divisiveness. Still, I would have welcomed it.

As a teacher, I always encouraged parents to come into the classroom. There are so many things they can do to help. Even parents who were come planning to observe always end up helping with class projects.
