I have orange scented ones by my desk to keep me alert. I do have a vanilla one for when I'm feeling more mellow and quiet

I burn scented candles every single day - all different kinds - anything from Glade container candles to hand poured specialty boutique pillars. I recently bought two scented "glass candles" (hard clear gel pillars that don't require a containers) on sale in "Christmas Tree" scent (that's why they were on sale). I guess at the end of the day, I always come back to vanilla - probably for the cozy comfy feeling that I like around the house.

I am totally addicted to the Yankee Candle Co. they have soooo many kinds to choose from and burn forever. Right now i am burning 'clean cotton' and i absolutely love it. i have pear in the bathroom that is very clean smelling. i love fruity stuff that makes it smell like i am baking an apple pie (im a faker) i cant bake. hehehe. i used to love vanilla until i met a woman i could not stand who wore GALLONS of vanilla fields perfume and she sorta ruined it for me.

I burn unscented candles as one of my best friends is scent-sensitive and the continuous release of smell can really overwhelm her. I do burn white sage frequently for scent, and I use a lavender water on my hair that I make myself, so you get that smell in our house a lot.

I burn different scented candles. One I most recently burned smelled like a freshly baked cinnamon bun that just came out of the oven. All warm and gooey with a light confectioners' sugar glaze. I thought that burning that candle would have me running off to the bakery. Thank goodness it did not have that effect on me. The candle is long gone; but I would enjoy that cinnamon bun right about now! Hmmmm! Just when I thought that I had beaten that urge to splurge! I wonder if they make them in fat-free? Nah! If they did, they probably wouldn't taste that good anyway! sincerely, moose

I went to a holiday party where we had one of those gift exchanges where everyone brings something and everyone then gets a random gift.

I got a lovely glass lantern and some beeswax tea lights to go with it. I'm completely hooked on the beeswax candles. They burn incredibly cleanly and the very faint honey scent is fantastic.

I have a wonderfully smelling lemon verbena Henri Bendel candle. I also burn various Yankee candles.

Bath and Body Works (White Barn Candle Company) came out with a new line today, and I have a coupon for a free candle. I look forward to using it! They supposedly have a scent called "Applemint".

Over the holidays, I smelled some neat candles at White Barn (I think they were Bendel candles, but I'm not sure). The most unusual one, hands down, was the buttered mashed potatoes candle!

Hi everybody! When it comes to candles i'm like a kid in a candy store. I burn the wild berry by glade. It gives the room a sweet refreshing smell as if you walked in to a fresh fruit market.

Until then keepem burnin!

I burn Ravenwood Spa candles. I just became a consultant with them a few months ago and their candles are really nice. My favorite fragrances for candles are the florals..I enjoy amber as well, vanilla, mulberry, cherry, lavender...I am not too choosy lol but I don't care much for for citrus ,unless it's for my kitchen area.

I will burn whatever smells good to me. We do a secret pal thing at work and somebody bought me a chai tea candle that I adore! I also love many of the party light scents. Beeswax rocks.

A friend of mine makes candles, hers are by far my fave in scents, they do not always burn perfectly but she is learning and her price is right!

I don't like "fake" scents. You know the ones, the call them vanilla but the smell like... YICKKY! don't waste my time.

I, absolutely love Peach, Lavender, Snickerdoodle, and Mulberry. I order mine from Simply Scentful and The Hot Air Baloon Candle Co. out of Dayton, Ohio. I ran across their scents at a business while traveling and haven't found any better. I just love candles and soft scents.

Have any of you ever tried soy wax candles?
Soy wax candles are made using a non-toxic, environmentally safe, completely biodegradable soy wax that will burn up to 30% longer than traditional paraffin wax. (Approximately 50 hours of burn time in a 6 oz. candle!) Our clean burning wicks contain no lead and leave no messy soot in your home. Jars can be washed clean with soap and water and reused. Paraffin wax is actually a crude oil derivative...that's why you get soot. Take a look here.... http://www.peeptoadhollow.com/soywaxcandles.htm

I just love lavender and then vanilla and wild berry. At Christmas, candles have to have cinnamon in them

I found a scented candle a while back that I love, it is Sweet Pea, it reminds me of my Grandmother as that was her favorite plant, and of course Lavender when I need to Calm things down. For up lifting Melon and cucumber. I of course use smudge when my house needs cleaning of bad ickys, my abosute fav. is sweet grass when you can keep it burning,
then of course the sage that I grow. My old stand-by tho is Cedar when I can find it, it reminds me of the Sweat Lodge.

fablefan... so do you partake in the sweat lodge? I don't know alot about it but was told of it by a friend some time back....

I like to burn candles, but my area I am in right now is not too big. I had the a/c on up until this week.... it was taken out for the season. Now I have the fans on and I find it difficult to burn them right now.

WHEN I do, I love Vanilla... forgot the brand name but I like the ones that burn within themselves, no messies! :-)

Yankee candle Company
Hazlenut Coffee
& Christmas Cookies (I think this was a limited edition, which drives me nuts, 'cause it was wonderful!)
& Candied Walnut

I made the mistake of getting the little wax melts to go into the container, but the 2 year old liked the smell of them so much he thought they were cookies! So I now have little teeth marks in all of my wax melts.

Me too! There's a local beeman who is a regular at the Saturday farmers' market who sells these fabulous handpoured beeswax candles. They release this wonderful homey, cozy essence into the air.

Hello Everyone,
I only burn 100% soy wax candles in my home. I do sell handpoured soy candles made by me on my website. They burn 50% longer and don't produce soot like paraffin wax. They are all natural unlike paraffin and are better for the environment. My aromatherapy candle line includes these scents: Citrus awakening,Mighty Mint,Sweet Dreams,Warm Lavender,Patchouli woods, and Hollyrose Aromatherapy blend.
Take a look at my website today.
Thanks,

I love the Votivo Red Currant. So delicious!!! In the wintertimne, I also burn Feu de Bois by Dyptique for that awesome firewood smell...

Oh my God. Has anyone ever tried "Tuberose" scent candles made by Trapp? I am totally addicted to them. They say there is a whole bottle of perfume in every candle. The scent fills up the whole house.

I adore orange/vanilla scented candles...they smell like an Orange Julius! Also, of course anything vanilla/cookie/cake scented.

The BF is nuts about some of Yankee Candles scents - one is a Halloween Patchouli sort of scent(don't know the name but he bought enough last season to still be burning them now - giggle), an orange/russet-colored Thanksgiving-ish pumpkin-ey scent and another is their Holiday Mistletoe fragrance.
When entertaining, I enjoy Claire Burke's Original scent candles...especially on evenings on the porch in the fall.

My mom is currently into soy candles.....is there a company that will re-fill their containers with new candles?

Happy Candlelight!

I pour my own candles (repeating myself from a different thread, sorry) and make my own soaps and really like

Special Edition Vanilla (from sweetcakes)
Applejack and Peel (from sweetcakes)
Most any Christmas fragrance

If I'm not pouring my own I like a Grapefruit scent from
Home Interior, I think it's pink grapefruit or Grapefruit Splash. Home Interior has another one that's called Baked Apples or Apple Pie or something like that. Their candles throw the scent better than any other mass produced candle that I've found. At least they did a year or so ago when I got several for gifts.

I love any candle with Sandalwood. I have one that is Mandarin & Sandalwood and one that is Sage & Sandalwood. I just bought another one called Coastal breeze that smells really good.

Since so many candles are toxic, we only burn beeswax and soy.
Posted By: joanj Re: What Candles do you Burn? - 10/16/06 02:04 PM
I stick to food scents, vanilla, cinnamon, etc as I'm allergic to most of the florals. I got some from Watkins that were really nice. I like soy candles too. I've purchased some at craft fairs, etc.

I like various scents but my favorite one is Lavender.

I really love Pacifica Soy Candles, and Yankee. In warmer weather I like the fruity or light floral. In colder weather I like anything spicy, vanilla based, and maybe incensy.

And they are great for people with allergies.

I prefer candles that have scents of nature. like rain, forest, or certain fruits like mango, cherry etc. They seem to relax my mind and thats the reason I burn them in the first place.
The vanilla/peach ones by Partylite are addictive...

I really like the White Barn candles, as well as Henri Bendel candles (both sold at Bath and Body Workd). My current favorite is Cinnamon Bark by Henri Bendel. It has such a high oil content (great quality!), that you can smell it *without* burning it! Yum...
Speaking of candles - Gold Canyon Candles just came out with their fall/winter catalog on their website - they have a Fudge Brownie scent. It is in with the cooking/baking line.

Gold Canyon has a great throw on their scents - I cannot wait to try this one!!
Avon is coming out now with candles (and other products) introduced by Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. It is in campaign 20 - the scents are Vanilla, Lavender and Peach.

It is a tri candle setup - all three fragrances are in their own dish, but they all go together to form a circle.

They all smell great!

Last year I looked everywhere for a Bayberry scented candle. Couldn't find one anywhere. I wonder if they still make them.

I have found Bayberry at Walmart and believe it or not--Dollar Stores. I think Yankee candle still makes the scent too---but sometmes it is renamed to a "Christmas-y" name.
