I have also always loved fantasy. For those of you who aren't too facile with genres, fantasy is often paired with science fiction, but they are in fact completely different. Fantasy evolved from high epic, such as the poems of warriors in classical antiquity, all the way to Tolkien. Science fiction takes our present state of technology, and brings it to a new level of what our society could be - such as androids and space ships, colonies on other planets, etc.

Currently I am reading the series by George R. R. Martin, "A SOng of Ice and Fire" - what a wonderful series! It is packed with interesting characters and a compelling storyline. Unfortunately, he takes a long time to produce each novel; the good thing is that they are several hundred pages long.

Can anyone recommend another good fantasy novel? Not RObert Jordan please! He's too prolific, and I don't want get mired down now by books that i feel I must read - when I start a series, I always follow through to the end.

Happy reading!

Hmmmm, Have you tried any of the books by Weiss and Hickman? Depending on which series your read, will depend if it's fantasy or sci-fi. ALso, other books that are part of the Dragonlance series.

Also, Some of the books by Ed Cunningham. It's part of the Forgotten Realms Series.

Also, I'm currently reading a series by David Farland that's a pretty good fantasy.

I've never read Robert Jordan and don't plan on it any time soon. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
