While reading some of the replies to "Pushing Buttons" I became enamored of Vance's use of euphemisms to show his displeasure toward a breach of etiquette. What are some of the favorite euphemisms you like to use when annoyed or angry? (euphemism: the substitution of a mild word or phrase for one which is harsh, obscene or vulgar)

One of mine is (a la Scarlette O'Hara) fiddlesticks!

I catch myself saying one my grandfather used to say when he got annoyed.... I say son of a biscuit lol or God bless it instead of, well you can probably guess what the vulgar ones are.

My mother in law used to always say, "ssshhhhh........sshhugar plum fairy". She did raise 10 kids and that one always made me smile (plus the fact that she never got any madder than that!) wink

Fudge... as in "Oh, fudge!"
My pastor got me in the habit of going "gooood night!" instead of "good God" or "good Lord" (realize neither one of those seem terribly iflammatory to begin with, but technically they are taking the Lord's name in vain.

I have been known to say,

"Jesus, Mary and Joseph" from time to time but I am sure that offends some people but its alot better then the alternative.

"Fother Mucker" is an old fav.

"Shizamme" intead of [censored].

"God bless America" instead of using damn of course.

"Sheesh" and "jeepers" are also a couple of my favorites. They substitute nicely for just about anything.
